Some Facts for You

Cafe de la Escalonia is located in what used to be a coffee farm in the southern area of Antigua Guatemala. The place also offers books, ornamental plants and local handcrafts. It’s great for stopping by on a family day out.

Personal Review

Living in Antigua I have to say I’m becoming spoiled. For one the entire colonial city is only 10 blocks square, which sounds like a teeny tiny place, but it’s certainly packed with so much that in my 8 months of being here, I have more than two thirds of the restuarants and to explore.

Yes, I’m a full on foodie and stepping outside my house immediately awakens our senses and we are drawn to the different eateries that are all around us.

The way we found Cafe De La Escalonia purely incidentally! We were taking a walk on one of my favorite streets and saw a nursery, then looked inside to find out it’s also a restaurant!

Surrounded by tropical flowers, the tables are hidden so that it’s complete privacy. The menu is limited for lunch and dinner but there is no better way to start a lazy Sunday with a delicious breakfast!
