Can you imagine yourself staying in a tropical town not far from Tikal, the most important Mayan Metropolis in the world, surrounded by the jungle and all its wonders? Well, Guatemala has all that and more in the colorful town of Flores Peten where you will find the beautiful Hotel Peten. Where families with small kids are welcome as well as adventurous honeymooners.
This is a wonderful hotel placed in the shore of the Itza Lake that offers a very personalized service and great views of the lake.
Here the rooms are nicely furnished and most of them offer a balcony from where you get amazing views. There’s also a deck with tables, perfect for a relaxing moment watching the lake, reading a book or sunbathing.
Hotel Peten is in a great spot, from here you can depart to you tours in one of the most important mayan archaeological sites or reserves and you will be after a short drive.

Here’s what people have to say about them and if you don’t believe them, I dare you to try it!
Overall, we liked the hotel a lot. It has a nice view of the Lake.. They still have power lines along the lake, so pretty much all the views are partially blocked a bit.. The Service was excellent. They gave me free internet in the lobby just be nice. it is located right on the island amongst all the shops and is a great lauch point for the tour to Tikal. Only downside was the WIFI didn’t work with my Iphone, but the PC’s they provided worked great.
And
This small, quiet hotel is on the west coast of Flores – it is not the same as Hotel Peten Esplendido which is in Santa Elena. Most rooms have a small balcony with views over the lake – great at sunset. The rooms are adequately equipped; our room on the 2nd floor better than the 4th, but we moved for the slightly better view. There is no lift. The “indoor/outdoor” pool is basically indoors and in the lightwell of the hotel, but allows for a quick refreshing dip but do take care, the wet floor around it is very slippery. The jacuzzi looked uninviting. The restaurant was a bit expensive for Flores, and the waiter tried to overcharge us at breakfast. There is a terrace overlooking the lake with a few sun loungers. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it for its central position, reasonable value and lovely views.
