By ·
Kids in Guatemala are an essential part of the families economical system. The average indigenous family has around 10 kids. They are taught from a super young age to start selling. These street kids, in Santa Catarina Village on Lake Atitlan, were between the ages of 2 -6.
The 2 year old could barely put two words together, but she knew the price of the bracelet in English, Spanish and her indigenous tongue!

Gives me new insight into the purpose of childhood! Thanks for this post. Gets me thinking about those children…wish they had more time for learning and playing. Also my own, they are capable of so much more then I expect of them.
