Probably one of our most memorable stays in Costa Rica. We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and witnessed some pretty fantastic rumblings and lava flows from the volcano. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful flowers and wildlife right outside your room.
And
We spent two nights at the Arenal Observatory Lodge and wished it had been longer. Our biggest surprise was how beautiful and well kept the grounds of the lodge are. They own over 800 acres with enough trails to keep you busy. The pool area and large Jacuzzi are very clean and nicely set with the woods in the background.

I have always wanted to see that volcano. That lodge looks incredible. Is it pretty expensive? It doesn't really matter, for a once in a lifetime opportunity, I think that I would be interested in staying for a night even if it was. Gorgeous!
