Jason, from Hightide Adventures, led our Palo Verde tour was great…gave us a history lesson on the way to the river, made sure we saw all of the animals we wanted to see on the trip, brought us drinks, took us to a great place for a traditional lunch, and even took us to Guatil to see a demonstration on how traditional pottery is made. He really put effort into making sure we had a great trip and we did.

Frank, from Frank Tours, did the two tours for us from El Toucano:
Arenal Hanging Bridges and the Zip Line. Each trip was so much more than we expected or planned and Frank really went out of his way to make sure we did everything we wanted (whether it was part of the plan or not). He allowed us as much time as we wanted for each place we went to visit, and he genuinely enjoyed taking us around the Arenal area. He even went out of his way to take us to a traditional dinner the one night even though the tour for that day was done and treated us to lunch the next day. He always suggested great places to take photos and always offered to take photos of us. Even after our day was over he offered to drive us to town to let us walk around. We had mentioned to him that we wanted to buy coffee to bring home as gifts and so he took us to his grocery store to buy the coffee since it is so much cheaper than the gift shops. He even took us to a bakery and bought us some cookies for desert on our last night in Costa Rica. The zip line tour he set up for us and drove us to was GREAT. A little scary because of the height (wow were we in the trees!).

I know I said it in my previous e-mail, but I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Frank’s tours to anyone going to Costa Rica. He was our own personal guide to the sights, but also the culture, and by the end of our two days he was a friend. I cannot say enough good things about him and the tours. Had we known, we would have had him drive us the 4.5 hours to the airport instead of the shuttle service our travel agent set up.

Thanks again, Marina, for your help and for getting us in touch with great tour guides! We had an AMAZING trip and it was because we got to do everything we wanted and had tour guides who were not only knowledgeable, but genuinely interested in the tours and our enjoyment of them.
