Weekly Travel Tip – Get a Guide

By Marina K. Villatoro · Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Today’s tip is a continuation of a Frommers Forum buddy. Read the last weeks post for the ABQTones proper intro! Since he had so many valuable tips, I’ve decided to make a series out of them.

Tip #2

I highly recommend at least one day with a guided tour driver of your own. I did it… and found the guide’s knowledge and love of his country to be excellent. He also translated for me everywhere we went and helped with converting dollars to colones, etc. It was 5-star treatment. Do it!

I recommend this to most of my clients too. Even though you’re going to get a driver, they are not just a driver, but a loving citizen of the Central American country you are visiting. All the guides and drivers speak English and are great for picking their brains on Everything you might want to know!
