No I’m not a surfer. And have no immediate plans to become one. As much as I sooooo respect surfers, I’m deadly scared of waves. However, we didn’t know this before arriving to this surfer’s hot spot. Nor did it put a hamper in our time here. Besides surfing there are tons of things to do in Playa Dominical. For starters, why do you have to do anything at all! Hanging out in our hotel swinging in the hammock was definitely fun. Or how about simply sitting and watching the sun set over the horizon. This Costa Rica spot offers a beautiful beach to have your family travel adventure and a variety of activities you can enjoy for your vacations.

When we did finally decide to be active, all we had to do was step onto the dirt road, better known as Main Street, and go to an open-air restaurant or bar for some tasty eats and cool beers overlooking the beach from every direction.

This whole town screamed of laid-backedness and chill-outedness. And was the perfect get away from city life.

A word of caution: Aforementioned, this is a famous surf break, but it is not for beginners. It is strong with an even stronger riptide. If you do want to come here to surf, yet lack experience, there are plenty of surf instructors that will gladly teach you the ropes.
