There are two Playa Hermosas in Costa Rica, the one in Guanacaste with whitish-sanded beaches and this one. It’s about 10 minutes south of Jaco and is black sanded, and world known for it’s surf!

Costa Rica Daily Photo – Sun Setting Over Penca Beach in Guanacaste
Near Flamingo Beach and Brasilito Beach is a small, unpopulated beach called Penca in Guanacaste. It’s mainly used by locals and the people that live on its shores.
