PinExt Disadvantages of Being an Expat

The hardest part of an Expat life is that you’re on your own.

Yeah, sure we create a great network of friends, and the fact that we are foreigners in a new land allow us to meet wonderful people. But the bottom line, you are on your own.

I’m not the kind of person to throw myself on others mercy. Where is this going you ask? Here, I have a cat. And, since I don’t like to bug others to go out of their way to help me. I had to leave my silver girl at home alone. I’m off for 11 days to Guatemala, and even though I left her enough cat food to feed 12 cats in that time. Plus, there’s enough litter boxes scattered all over the house that she will not suffer for a moment, but I still feel sad that I have to leave her without anyone coming around to see if she’s ok.

Don’t get me wrong, I love being an expat. It is who I am! But sometimes it’s nice to have family around:)

Yodashika, we’ll miss you!
